Kenya leads East Africa in mergers and acquisitions of private companies

In the first seven months of 2012, East Africa recorded a sharp rise in the number of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals compared with the same period last year.

Rising business confidence, consumer demand and improving economic conditions in the region have whetted business executives’ appetite for firms in the technology, mining and financial services sectors.
